ICUE 2022 successfully held

The ICUE 2022 conference, organized by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in October 2022, served as a pivotal venue for the exchange of research ideas, outputs, and experiences within the realms of Energy, Environment, and Climate Change. ICUE 2022, which is a part of the ICUE conference series hosted by AIT every two years, convened a diverse array of professionals, policy makers, researchers, engineers, and academic experts. At this conference, participants convened and discussed a wide spectrum of global, regional, and national issues, with a particular focus on the multifaceted dimensions of energy utilization and its impacts on the environment and climate change. The topics covered technical, social, financial, economic, and policy-related aspects, with an emphasis on sustainable development and the imperative of achieving a low-carbon based economic growth.

In the context of the conference, AIT’s contributions to sustainable development and its commitment to addressing environmental challenges align with the broader discussions on energy, environment, and climate change. AIT’s work in providing direct services to local industry, particularly in the realms of energy efficiency assessments, workshops, and research on renewable energy options, directly contributed to the conference’s overarching goals of advancing solutions for a more sustainable future. ICUE 2022 provided a platform for sharing insights and innovative approaches to tackle pressing global issues related to energy, the environment, and climate change, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among its participants.

As we move forward, AIT will continue to contribute to advance the discussions on sustainable development and will once again host the ICUE 2024. This iteration of the ICUE conference series will be under the new theme International Conference on sUstainable Energy 2024 (ICUE 2024) on Energy Transition and Net Zero Climate Future. ICUE 2024 will aim to: Promote Sustainable Practices, Foster Awareness and Education, Facilitate Collaboration, and Support Policy Initiatives under the context of sustainable energy transition for a green, net-zero climate future.

See you all at ICUE 2024!

DAY 2, 27 October 2022

DAY 1, 26 October 2022

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE: SCOPE and TOPICS

Attaining the goals of sustainable development is based on three interlinked criteria: economic development, social progress, and environmental protection. Development would be meaningless if it does not ensure a sustainable economic growth that guarantees future generations’ ability to thrive and prosper without sacrificing the regenerative capacity of the environment. Economic activities always equate to environmental degradation and pollution, CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions and consequently global warming and climate change consequences. Thus it is our generation’s challenge to aim for a low-carbon based economic growth as it is the only way to help mitigate environmental pollution and subsequent effects of climate change. The ICUE 2022 conference is being organized by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to be a venue to exchange research ideas, outputs, experiences by covering technical, social, financial, economic and policy issues on Energy, Environment, and Climate Change. The conference is part of the ICUE conference series being organized by AIT every two years. Here, we expect professionals, policy makers, researchers, engineers, members of the academia, to convene and discuss global, regional, and national issues ll covering a wide range of technical, economic, and social dimensions of energy utilization, its effect to the environment and to climate change.
